Closer to go.

Just a quick note because it's been a while since the last post.

I am getting excited! I am hoping to shoot the first video(s) this weekend.

I will be doing cast-on videos. I am considering long-tail, knit, cable, and reverse loop. I don't know if I will do separate videos or just put links so you can jump to the different methods in the same video. I guess it will depend on my editing skills once the video is recorded.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Welcome 2017...

Goodness gracious, it's been four and a half years since I've posted! Sorry about that, life happened and all that jazz. Well, in this new political climate, I realized that I needed a safe place to relax and get away from all the drama and strife so I'm making my own...safe place, not drama and strife. I am declaring this to be a drama free zone!!!! 😄

Unless it's the happy drama of a good yarny project, of course!

I have updated some links here and created a YouTube channel where I will be adding videos. Er, um, there is nothing currently there because I just made the channel 👷 ... the channel is also Druidminer's Knitosphere for future reference and before I get the link at the top of the page. Again, right now it's a sad, sad place. 😢

What will I be putting there, you ask? Well, how-to videos, of course. Now don't get me wrong, there are some great videos already out there on YouTube but more is better in this case, right? Everyone learns differently and it may take a few different methods to completely get it.

But wait, there's more! So as to content: knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving and more. Some crafts I am more advanced than others, but I do them all! I will also be talking about reading patterns, fixing mistakes, storage solutions, and the occasional philosophical discussion about things that come up while working with the yarn. More possible topics are picking replacement yarns for those patterns that use retired yarns and adjusting patterns to fit your needs or stash that you already have so no new spending is required! I may be adding another pattern or two of my own as well as some by my Craftconspiracy co-conspirator, if I can convince her! I will try and do techniques in both left and right hand as well but being a right-handed person, I may not get everything in left-hand, but I will try.

My mind is buzzing with the possibilities of all the things we can talk about so if you have some early requests, let me know. It may be a bit before videos are posted.. I have to work on my skills in that department but I hope to have a couple out before the end of the month, at least.

Welcome to the NEW Knitosphere!! 💃💃

I've been busy......

Just a quick update. I'm trying to keep up the habit of writing on here. Well, I've set some twist, finished a pair of gloves and here are the pictures to prove it!
The pattern is my One Size Fits All Fingerless Gloves Pattern. These are knit using Araucania Ranco Solid

The colonial top from the rolags......still need to set the twist.

And some older spun yarn that needed to have the twist set.

And some more with the double plied colonial top and the rolag colonial top at the far left....

And some double plied blue and purple that needed the twist set...
The picture isn't the best but the light was doing funny things to the color.

It's Friday.....still

I created a custom rolag from the colonial top and I'm thinking I like it.......

I think I just solved my plying problem. Yay!

I love Friday........

So, it is finally the weekend. I'm having left hand issues as well as allergy issues so the knitting has been slow to non-existent. BUT, I have spun one quarter of my colonial top. I plied it (it did weird things) semi-successfully. I am now setting the twist...along with some other yarn that need the twist set.............Seeeeeeee.

Again, I had plying issues so the bright orange on the middle hanger as well as the bright blue and the third one you can only see at the bottom. It was the yellow/red mix that broke twice.....I've plied better.....the purple on the far right er...um... left as a matter of fact.  Le sigh, Le sigh.

So I haven't decided if I am going to do the rest of the CT as singles and hold two strands as it knit or crochet or try and do more with plying.........I'm leaning toward the singles. What do you think?

PS: I will post more photos when they are dry and twisted into skeins.

Ta!

Let's give spinning a whirl....

I have been hard at work at the HitchHiker. I finished the Autumn fiber and just have to set the twist.

I have started on some Colonial Top. I have 2oz of five different colors that I am making into variegated two-ply and also some one color singles. The only color not shown is an emerald green. I added the different colors in different rates so it will make a unique variegation. I also might try and make some rolags using all of the colors to make a blended skein.

I'm ALIVE!!!!!

The last two years have been an adventure to say the least.

Anyway, I have moved and now have a craft dedicated room. YAAAYYY!

I am also part of Craftconspiracy where we have hand knitting/woven/crochet items for sale as well as a fingerless glove pattern for sale.

My latest project off the needles is the Wingspan using KnitPicks Chroma Worsted New England and Gedifra Fashion Trend Gold 5079
I am also working on another Wingspan in fingering weight.

I've also pulled out the HitchHiker and am spinning some Rambouillet/Merino/Mohair from UniqueDesignsByKathy in Autumn shades......I'm starting to see a pattern. Probably because it's now over 100 outside on a daily basis and I am wishing for cooler weather!

It's not the best picture but here goes:
