Quick Mock Rib Adjustable Length Ascot Pattern

Ok, my first pattern that I am publishing.

Mock Rib Ascot

Materials:
Moda Dea: Tweedle Dee (115yd/142m, 100g, 12sts = 4") Indigo Run
US 11 (8.00 mm) needles
2 - 1" buttons

Guage:
10 sts and 20 rows = 4" in pattern stitch

Size:
6" X 36"

Notes:
It should take no more than 1/2 of the skein, probably less.
sl2wyif = slip 2 purlwise with yarn in front

Pattern:
CO 16 sts
Row 1: (RS) K accross
Row 2: K1, (sl2wyif, k1) accross
Row 3: K accross
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 36" or desired length. Bind Off.

Finishing
Weave in ends. On one end attach the button 19 rows from the end. On the other end attach the button 28 rows from the end. Using this pattern with 1" buttons, I was able to slip the buttons between the two center slipped stitches.

On the RS, I found it easier to count the slipped stitches than the actual rows, 1 sl st row = 2 actual rows. My actual, was 91 (sl st) "rows" with the buttons attached at "rows" 10 and 15. I staggered the buttons so it can be variable in length, (just flip it so it will cross how you want), and it will always have 2 buttons on the front.
