For those that were born on this day... Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can I say, it's that kind of day today. It's an "I'd rather be knitting" kind of day. I thought it was Thursday most all day yesterday so today is (of course) just dragging.
I keep forgetting that I have a quarterly meeting on Saturday from 8-11am. And I wanted to sleep in until at least 7:30 and then go to the gym at 8, well, that plan is blown to the coast. I actually have to get up earlier than I do during the normal working day, it's a crock of poo. I live 10 minutes from work in minimal traffic and 30 minutes from the place where we have our quarterly meeting.
I finished the knitted Kimono jacket. (I still have a few ends to weave in.) I will probably wear it on Saturday so I can drop by Tucson Yarn( http://tucsonyarn.com/ ) and show it off.

Happy Thursday!!
Hello. My name is Shannon and I am a fiber addict. It has been 19 days since my last fiber purchase.
I have decided that I have used up my yarn budget for the rest of the year. That means for the next 217 days, I can not buy any yarn......unless I have a gift certificate. I do have a credit at Purls, but I am saving that until this yarn diet becomes a serious safety threat to someone else. See, I do have will power (19 days done.....217 to go). Tips to keep me on track? Stay away from yarn sales, re-organize stash, concentrate on finishing projects still on needles.

The Dreaded........Yarn Sale!!!
OK, I freely admit it. I have impulse control problems.
I have an ongoing struggle with myself on how much I spend on yarn. Well, for those of you that don't already know, Tucson Yarn is having a moving on up sale going on until next saturday (5/16). (They are moving next door to where they currently are housed.) What is it about the word "sale" that makes ones common sense leave? I ask ya'. Now don't get me wrong, I love all the yarn I bought and if it hadn't been on sale, I probably would not have bought it (for a while, at least) but I am becoming a serious detrement to myself. I often joke that "at least it's not illegal" well, I might have to declare it so for the rest of the year. No more yarn sales for me! If I know of one, I will have to declare that place off limits until the sale is over. My willpower is weak when it comes to yarn. I was joking with the ladies as I was getting ready to carry my 3 (count them.....3) bags out of the store that come winter, I was not going to have to turn my heat on, I would just throw the yarn in a pile and dive in for warmth. It is a real possibility here, I'm not joshin'. Between the bags of yarn that I have not found a place for yet and the Avon boxes (check out my website at www.youravon.com/shannonorr) there is very little room in my apartment for the dog to find a place to sit. I'll stand, thanks.
The good news is that I almost have the second sleeve finished on the Sandra Kimono Jacket. I am also 1/3 of the way finished on the Anne Ruana which I still hope to have finished by Labor Day of this year.

Life......Don't talk to me about life.
It's been too long......I need a vacation. Just one day where I can do nothing but knit. No interruptions, like....life. I am working like mad to get the Ruana finished and then will make myself a hat to match. My goal is to get 4 squares done during each week day and 6 done on each weekend day. That's 26 each week for those not imbued with enough caffeine to do math in their head yet. It's too farking early if you ask me. Anyway, I have to go to work now.

Is this considered cheating?
OK, confession time................
First let me qualify, I have once again promised knitted items to be done on a deadline. I am donating two afghans that have to be completed by the second week in March. That means I have 33 days to get them both finished.
I am giving up on using knitting needles to finish the afghan blocks. I broke out my knitting machine. Is that cheating? I am still cross stitching the pictures on and joining the blocks by hand. I came to this decision yesterday when I spent 2.5 hours working on one of the 120 sts blocks and only got about 1.5 to 2 inches done. On the first blanket. So after I check gauge to make sure they are the same, I may actually have the bottom strip of the blanket done if I am able to use the first block that I knit. Soooo, if I work on it diligently, I may actually complete at least one if not both by the deadline.
These are going to support local law enforcement so it's for a good cause and it is still going to take lots and lots of hours. (Only now it won't take months and months too.)
