Citron, My Citron

The News Is out.....

I have finished something!!!!! Well I have finished several things, this just happens to be the latest. It is Citron shawl in Schaefer Heather (I will try to find the tag for the colorway) knit on a US 9.

I was somewhat short on yarn for the full pattern, but it should still be a good size (it is still drying). I knit 4 of the repeats and was able to get 8 rows on my ruffle (7+BO) before I ran out of yarn. I am making another one in Malabrigo Lace on US 6 that is up to the second repeat, I started this one first. I have two skeins in the 125 Mariposa colorway so I hope to get at least 7 or 8 repeats done before I run out of yarn. I may do the ruffle in another yarn but I think it will be hard to match the color.

I was originally going to do my Citron in 11 Apple Green, but when I started to search for the yarn, I found that I had already used that yarn for October is for Spinners by Sharon Emery. Which, I must say, needs re-blocking, it was my first attempt at blocking and the one end looks good but the other needs some work still. It may get blocked after my Citron is dry, if it isn't too late in the day.

This was a wonderful pattern that quickly curbs your fears of drop stitch patterns. It did for me.

The other FO I found when digging out the scarf is a pair of elbow length fingerless gloves that I fashioned from Opal Sock Yarn In Dumbledore.

It is my own pattern and they conform to my arm so well that I can wear my watch over them. You see, this is what comes out of sitting at your desk all day with the air conditioner blowing straight onto you hands and wrists.

Since I have a little bit more time on my hands these days, I will hopefully be finishing more projects. Provided I slow down on starting new ones, of course. But hey, any forward movement is progress. Right?
